Richard Bartolotta Obituary

Richard J. Bartolotta, 80, passed away on October 30, 2025, at Albany Medical Center. He was a resident of Chestertown and Southampton, NY.

Born on February 18, 1945, Richard was a graduate of Farmingdale High School. He built a successful career at IBM before retiring and embarking on a second chapter as a teacher’s aide, where he worked with children with special needs—a role that reflected his generous spirit and deep compassion.

Richard is lovingly remembered by his sister Caryle Baronciani (Chip); daughters Gina Jump (Steve) and Kristie Stauch (Scott); step-sons Donald (Laura), John (Kelly), and Thomas (Tara); and grandchildren Cody, Logan, Chelsie, Trevor, Megan, Jordan, Sophie, Thomas, and Taylor. He also leaves behind his beloved partner Susan Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank Bartolotta and Rose Miceli, and his brother Charles Bartolotta.

A man of many passions, Richard found joy in music and singing. He was a proud member of the choir at the Congregational Church of Patchogue and also worshipped at The Basilica Parish of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Southampton. An avid Yankees fan and lover of nature, he delighted in watching birds and squirrels from his cherished Lake House. He also enjoyed cooking and grilling for those he loved.

Richard’s greatest happiness came from being surrounded by family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and joyful presence touched everyone who knew him. Whether through song, laughter, or quiet acts of service, he made the world around him brighter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
